MVSK Sponsors underserved youth in Marin Green Play Outdoor ed Camps!

This summer we set out to use $5000 in funding from the Mill Valley StreamKeepers to bring 20 children from low income families in Marin County to our nature-based camp, specifically our Grades K-2 camp (Watershed Warriors) at cost.

We were able to host 5 individual children at camp for a total of 8 weeks of camp (three of the children attended two weeks each). They enjoyed it very much. The locations were Mill Valley: Hauke Park/Bayfront Park/Pickleweed Inlet (3 campers), Tiburon: Blackie’s Pasture and beyond (3 campers) and Green Gulch Farm/Muir Beach (2 campers). The campers were part of groups of up to 20 children led by 3 guides and assisted by 2-3 youth leaders.1
